Update
New District 3 Police Station - The county is making modifications to the plans for the proposed police station along Milestone Drive to address some of the concerns raised at our August meeting. We are also in discussions with the Policy Department about addressing some of operational issues associated with the police station raised at this meeting. As part of this development plan, the county has formally requested a full traffic signal be installed at Heartfields Drive and New Hampshire Avenue.
Alternative to Housing Development on Milestone Drive – The county is still considering some type of affordable housing development along Milestone Drive. As an alternative to this development, NWOCA members are circulating a proposal which would set this land aside for a forest conservation stand in memory of Rachel Carson. Learn more about this idea at the January 27 NWOCA meeting.
