Hi! We are John Nelson and Andre Sieh, two new parents (back in
'99 when we set up Community Web) who were looking for help with
our busy new lifetyle mixing work and children. When we moved into
Westmoreland Hills, we were infected by the sense of community already
present here, and by neighbors struggling with similar issues. We
decided that what everyone needed was a powerful community resource
where parents and homeowners could find everything they needed in
one place to make dealing with a demanding family lifestyle easier.
Not only that, it would be a place where neighbors could share their
knowledge and experiences. We also try to work with community umbrella
groups to provide tools that help communities protect their interests, and get residents more involved in civic activities in general.
As we added modules to the software, we found other ways we thought
we could help neighborhoods by giving power to consumers, and getting
local business to help finance community activities. We decided
that aggregating our purchasing power through a buying cooperative
would give residents an additional service by leveraging numbers
and making it easier to find what they needed. The result of all
the above is a suite of powerful community tools that gives the
neighborhood a great reason to visit and share. Enjoy and be sure
to contribute!
